So now that we’re all caught up to speed..
When you are at one of the chamber functions, inevitably people will walk up to you and ask you what you do. How you answer may very well be the difference between adding another 7figures to your investment funding, or adding another fail in raising capital.
Imagine Mr Moneybags walks up to you. You’ve heard rumblings from other members that he is worth 8 figures and is looking to diversify.
Mr Moneybags: “So, Mr Trang what do you do?”
Me: “I do real estate investments.”
Or let’s say I say this, “I buy and sell houses…”
Mr Moneybags: “That’s great, nice to meet you. I’ll be spending my money elsewhere.”
What was the fail in regards to this introduction? I failed to understand what he was really asking me. He wasn’t asking what I do for a living. He was asking what can I do for him. Let’s try again, with that understanding.
Mr Moneybags: “So Mr Trang, what do you do?”
Me: “Well, I have a business that helps business owners possibly like yourself take control of their retirement, by offering them solid investments backed by profitable real estate earning them up to 18% on their money.”
Mr Moneybags: “Tell me more.” Or “Let’s set up an appointment so you can tell me more.”
Did you see how the power of presenting the benefits of what you do instead of the features will get you much better results?
